CHANDIGARH: The class XII results are out and school days are over for the batch of 2006. Students are now anxious to enter college life and it is time to take decisions and choose the stream and institute that would shape up a better future. But nothing comes without a price tag.
Most private colleges in the city have priced their prospectus between Rs 250-300.

However the common prospectus for the four government colleges, which will be available by June 6, will cost Rs 50.
The common prospectus for government colleges includes two admission forms to help cut down the expenses of students applying in more than one college. The admission form will only be sold at Rs five to students who have to take admission for the second or third year.
Almost every college in city has its own website and students can access information about it to make the right choice. As per the admission schedule given by Panjab University, admissions in the colleges will be done between July 3-10.
Late admission, with the permission of college principals, will be from July 11-24. According to college officials they are receiving maximum queries regarding biotechnology courses.
At undergraduate level, honours course in biotechnology is available in DAV College, GGDSD College and GC-11. The elective course in biotechnology is available in Government College for Girls, Sector 42.
Bachelors in commerce is another stream which is in demand and in humanities, sociology and functional English are in demand.
